The Management and Staff of the Piazza Dance Company is mindful of the expense associated with the practice of the art of dance. The student is therefore permitted to wear any currently owned dance apparel and dance footwear to class practice, provided it does not violate the dress code of the Piazza Dance Company, is in good repair, is approved by the class instructor, and meets the criteria of the dance genre or subject for which it will be worn. The student must purchase shoes from the following list for all performances, competitions, and photo opportunities.

Acceptable Attire


Attire is limited to dance wear - Street clothes are prohibited

  • Pre-Ballet: Pink leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers
  • Rhythm and Kinder Tap: Leotard and tights any style or color. Tap shoes and ballet slippers.
  • Ballet and Primary Ballet: Females: Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Males: White tee shirt, black tights or jazz pants, black ballet slippers.
  • Other classes: Leotard and tights. Jazz pants and jazz shorts are optional. No bare midriffs, please.
  • Dance wear must be form fitting and in good repair
  • No jewelry of any type will be allowed in class, except for stud earrings, small in size.
  • Hair must be neatly pulled up off neck and away from the face
  • Shoe style and color will be determined by Piazza Dance Company (See posted list)
  • Bare feet are allowed in Jazz class, but dancing in socks or stockings without shoes is prohibited

Hip Hop
